Backup and restore
Records live in the tracker's database on the server, not in this browser. Everyone signed in sees the same list, so something entered on one machine is there on the next. The downloads below are snapshots you can keep off-system.
1. Snapshot file (.json) — the full record
Holds everything - jets, bottles, loans, conditions, the change log and the revision number. Take one after a session where a lot changed, and it is the file to send to someone else. The tracker cannot read a .json back in yet, so restoring means a database restore or re-entering by hand.
2. Spreadsheet copy (.csv) — for Excel only
Opens in Excel so you can read the list or email it to someone. It is not a backup and cannot be uploaded back in - it does not carry the history or the revision number. Use the .json above for a full snapshot.
3. Restore from a snapshot (.json) — admin only
Reads back a snapshot from this tracker or from the old single-file version. It adds records - a tail already on the list is skipped, never overwritten, so a restore cannot quietly rewrite something somebody is working on.
Sample data — for evaluation
Twelve sample aircraft covering every status the list can display: overdue, each purge band, at Cryo, an aircraft with nothing fitted, an unserviceable item and a borrowed one. Remove these before live records are entered. The remove button takes out exactly those twelve and leaves everything else untouched.
Worth knowing: clearing your browsing data does not touch the records - they are on the server, not in this browser. The real safety net is the database backup on the server; the .json download is your own copy of the same data, and the only copy you hold yourself.
Accounts
Everyone authorised to sign in. Administrators can add personnel and reset a forgotten password; editors have full use of the tracker but cannot change accounts.

Add someone, or reset a password
A stamp that already exists gets its password reset and its role updated - it is not duplicated. Type the password once here and hand it over; they change it themselves under Backup.
